Vyteris was organized in November 2000 as a spinout of the Transdermal
Systems unit of Becton Dickinson and Company ("BD"). Becton Dickinson
created Transdermal Systems just prior to 1990 and invested 10 years
in the technology
Headquartered in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, we occupy 27,000 square
feet of space devoted to research, development and manufacturing
of transdermal medication delivery products.
We have a portfolio of over 55 U.S. patents and over 45 international
patents issued, with an additional 45 patents filed.
Our first commercialized product will be a lidocaine delivery system
for local dermal anesthesia. This product will provide rapid local
anesthesia to minimize pain for medical needlestick procedures,
such as insertion of IV catheters, hypodermic injections (including
immunizations), and blood draws, as well as dermatological surgery
procedures. We filed our NDA and expect the commercial launch of
this product in the first quarter of 2004. We have partnered with
B.Braun, a full line supplier of innovative healthcare products
& programs, to market our dermal anesthesia product. In addition,
we have several other products in various research and development
phases.
